2011 Post-Season: Cowboys and Growers Even Series

With the La Habana Cowboys and Pinar del Rio Tobacco Growers both winning their matches on Sunday all four series are now tied at one victory apiece.

After getting blasted 17-7 on Saturday the Pinar del Rio Tobacco Growers bounced back and defeated the Sancti Spiritus Roosters 7-3.
The Growers scored all seven of their runs in the first two innings, with Donal Duarte leading the offense with a homerun and three RBIs.
Vladimir Baņos pitched six plus innings to get the win. He was touched for a solo homer by Jose Alfonso in the fourth and a 2-run drive by Frederich Cepeda in the fifth.
He finally yielded to Julio Martinez with one out in the seventh. Martinez didnt allow any more Roosters to cross the plate to earn the save.
The La Habana Cowboys evened their series against the Cienfuegos Elephantes with an 8-4 win.
Leadoff hitter Dennis Laza was the big bat for the Cowboys with three hits, including a homerun and six RBIs.
Yadier Pedroso pitched six innings to get the victory.
He was staked to an 8-0 lead and then got ripped for four runs in the sixth.
Miguel Lahera replaced him in the seventh, then tossed the last three innings without giving up another run to pick up the save.
