Randy Arozarena hit a decisive solo home run in the sixth inning on Sunday, leading the Mariners to a 1-0 win against the visiting Pirates.

The Mariners struggled to make progress against Pirates' ace Paul Skenes, but Arozarena capitalized as soon as Skenes left the game. He crushed a 2-0 fastball from Carmen Mlodzinski for a 399-foot (110.2 mph EV) solo home run that turned out to be the deciding factor in the game. The 30-year-old outfielder has been on fire at the plate, hitting six home runs in his last seven games. With his 1-for-3 performance, he's now batting .249/.355/.446 with 14 homers, 42 RBI, and 15 stolen bases this season.

Yandy Díaz hit a double and scored twice.

Yandy Díaz went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI in Sunday's extra-inning victory over Minnesota. Initially, Yandy was 0-for-3 but later singled and scored in the eighth inning. He followed that with an RBI double and another run in the 10th inning. After having six consecutive games with multiple hits in late June, Yandy has recorded four multi-hit games in his last 11 appearances. The veteran slugger is now slashing .289/.345/.472 with 33 extra-base hits and 52 RBI over 84 games.

Aroldis Chapman credited with second hold.

Aroldis Chapman earned his second hold of the season in the Red Sox's 6-4 victory over the Nationals. In the eighth inning, Chapman allowed one hit while striking out two batters. Since signing him last December, Chapman has met all of the Red Sox's expectations. He has successfully converted all but one save opportunity, reduced his walk rate by 50% from last year, and his 0.771 WHIP highlights his impressive dominance. He is an All-Star and also a possible trade card for Boston before the July 31 deadline.

Miguel Vargas and Edgar Quero went hitless.

Miguel Vargas and Edgar Quero went hitless in the White Sox's 6-4 loss to the Rockies. Vargas and Quero combined to go 0-for-6, both with one walk, while Quero struck out once and also scored a run. Vargas is hitting .221/.301/.394 with 10 homers and 34 RBIs in 86 games and 355 plate appearances this year, while Quero is hitting .269/.345/.326 with one homer and 19 RBIs in 57 games in his rookie year.

Lázaro Estrada demoted to Triple-A.

On Sunday, the Blue Jays sent Estrada to Triple-A Buffalo. This move was made to make space on the 26-man roster for Ryan Burr (shoulder), who was activated from the 60-day injured list. Estrada, after receiving his first major league call-up on Friday, delivered an impressive performance in Saturday's 11-inning victory over the Angels, allowing one earned run on two hits with no walks and striking out four over four innings of extended relief.

Raisel Iglesias and Yennier Cano with scoreless innings.

Raisel Iglesias and Yennier Cano faced off in Sunday's game, where the Orioles defeated the Braves 2-1. For the Braves, Iglesias pitched a perfect ninth inning, striking out two batters and extending his consecutive scoreless innings to 9 2/3. During that stretch, Iglesias has an impressive 14:1 SO:BB ratio. For the Orioles, Cano pitched a scoreless inning, allowing one hit and striking out one, earning his 12th hold of the year. Since being recalled from AAA by the Orioles on July 2, Cano has three scoreless innings with two strikeouts.

Adrián Morejón collects hold #12.

Adrián Morejón matched his career high of 12 holds from 2024 during the Padres' 4-1 victory over the Rangers on Sunday. Morejón pitched a one-hit, one-strikeout eighth inning, earning his 12th hold in just 43 games this year compared to the 60 he needed in all of 2024. His scoreless inning lowered his ERA to 1.80 in 40 innings, where he maintains a 36:7 SO:BB ratio while opponents hit against him for a career-low .172.

Yanquiel Fernández achieves his first career RBI.

Yanquiel Fernández went 1-for-3, achieving his first career RBI and scoring a run on Sunday during the Rockies 6-4 victory against the White Sox. Since his promotion on July 1, Yanquiel has started in four out of five games and is adjusting to a key position in a platoon. He recorded his first career hit last Thursday and then had his first multi-hit game on Saturday. While the sample size is small, it's encouraging that Yanquiel has only struck out twice in 13 plate appearances.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. got Sunday off.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. did not play in Sunday's game against the Royals. This marks his first day off since June 22. Over the past 12 games, Gurriel has been in the starting lineup, hitting .224 with two home runs, one stolen base, six RBIs, and six runs.

Jorge Soler rested on Sunday.

Jorge Soler was not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays. He took a break after having difficulty at the plate since his return from the injured list on Tuesday, hitting 2-for-15 with one home run and a 3:9 BB:K ratio over five games. He later appeared as a pinch hitter and went 1-for-1.
