Randy Arozena hit a grand slam and secured the game-winning run with a bases-loaded walk, leading to a 7-6 victory over the Astros on Wednesday.

Randy Arozarena went 2-for-3 with a grand slam, two walks, and an extra run scored in Wednesday's 7-6 victory over Houston.

Before securing the win for the Mariners with a bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning, Arozarena hit a grand slam in the eighth inning, putting Seattle on the scoreboard and narrowing the gap to one run.

Although the powerful left fielder isn't hitting for average early in the season, with a 9-for-47 (.191) performance, he has still made an impact at the plate with three home runs, four doubles, nine RBIs, and 10 walks across 13 games. The home run was his first in April.

Miguel Vargas achieves several hits.

Miguel Vargas had two hits in five at-bats, along with an RBI and a stolen base, on Wednesday against Cleveland. Vargas has participated in every game this season, although he has been moved down from his initial position as the team's primary leadoff hitter. This shift in role is justified, as he has a batting average of just .179 and a strikeout rate of 26.7 percent. On Wednesday, Vargas achieved his second multi-hit game of the season, but he has only recorded two extra-base hits.

Aroldis Chapman remains scoreless once more.

Aroldis Chapman took the mound on Wednesday during Boston's 2-1 defeat to Toronto. He pitched the ninth inning without a save opportunity, showcasing his typical speed with a top pitch of 102 mph against Andrés Jiménez.

He concluded the inning with two strikeouts, having started by giving up a single to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over five appearances, Chapman maintains a 0.00 ERA, with two saves, two wins, and six strikeouts across 4 2/3 innings.

Andy Pagés hit a solo home run in a victory against the Nationals on Wednesday.

Andy Pagés has hit home runs in consecutive games, bringing his total to two for the season. Although the 24-year-old's batting average remains low at .171/.306/.341, it's promising to witness some power from the outfielder's bat recently.

Jorge Soler hits his third home run.

Jorge Soler went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 defeat against Tampa Bay. Soler narrowed the Angels' gap to one run by hitting a 356-foot solo homer to right field off Ryan Pepiot in the fifth inning. Soler has hit a home run in three of his last four games and is currently on a six-game hitting streak, during which he has gone 6-for-22 with one walk, four runs scored, three home runs, and five RBI.

Yandy Díaz hits first home run of 2025.

Yandy Díaz had two hits in four at-bats, including a solo home run, during Wednesday's 5-4 victory against the Angels. Yandy hit a 327-foot solo home run to right field off the second pitch he faced from Reid Detmers, marking his first of the 2025 season. Although Yandy had a slow start, he has managed to reach base in six of his last seven games, going 6-for-28 with two walks, three runs scored, and a solo homer during this period.

Yoán Moncada re-injures his thumb.

Yoán Moncada was removed from Wednesday's game against Tampa Bay due to soreness in his right thumb, according to Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register. Moncada first experienced thumb issues toward the end of spring training. He has already aggravated it once since the regular season started, leaving Friday's game early and missing the following three games. He couldn't finish his first game back in the lineup without another flare-up. The Angels might consider placing the 29-year-old on the injured list to allow his thumb to heal properly, though the team's plans are currently uncertain. For now, Moncada is not included in the lineup for Thursday's game in Tampa Bay, as reported by Jeff Fletcher.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had a day off on Wednesday.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles. This marked only the second time in 13 games that Gurriel sat out, as the Diamondbacks gave him a break to regroup after going 0-for-15 at the plate in the last four games.

Luis Robert Jr. taking a break on Thursday.

Luis Robert Jr. is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Cleveland. On Wednesday, Robert did not secure any hits in five at-bats during the loss to the Guardians, reducing his season average to .154. He'll take a break for Thursday's series finale, with Michael Taylor taking his place in center field.
