Moncada returned to play on Saturday against the Guardians after missing one game because of a sore knee, but he was absent on Sunday and is now back on the IL. The 30-year-old Cuban switch-hitter still shows some power at the plate, but his frequent injuries make him highly unreliable. Moncada has participated in 30 games during the 2025 season, starting 27 of them. He has 23 hits in 97 at-bats (.237 BA). His on-base percentage is .336, and he has an OPS of .841, along with 6 home runs and 19 RBIs. In the 10 games leading up to his injury, Moncada had a batting average of .281. Throughout this time, he achieved 9 hits, 3 home runs, and 6 RBIs in 32 at-bats. His performance at home was strong, with a batting average of .273, whereas he hit .208 in away games.
