Yoán Moncada homers in return.

Yoán Moncada returned to the Angels’ lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Blue Jays after being sidelined for nearly a month due to a right thumb sprain. On Tuesday, Moncada went 1-for-4, hitting a three-run home run in the Angels' 8-3 victory over the Blue Jays. His homer contributed to a six-run eighth inning that secured the game for the Angels. The third baseman has been dealing with a thumb sprain since mid-March, with the recent flare-up sidelining him for almost a month. Moncada is batting .200 (5-for-25) with a home run, seven RBIs, four runs scored, two doubles, and a 6:8 BB:K ratio in his first nine games with the Angels. Remaining healthy will be a major concern for Moncada moving forward, as he played in only 104 games during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. homers in multi-hit game.

After going hitless in his previous two games, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. delivered a breakout performance with three hits against the Mets on Tuesday, including a two-run homer off David Peterson in the sixth inning, which extended the Diamondbacks' lead. Overall, Gurriel went 3-for-4 with the two-run home run and a double in Tuesday's 5-1 victory over the Mets. Gurriel has achieved four multi-hit games in his last seven outings, going 11-for-27 (.407) with two homers, four doubles, and five RBI during that period. This productive streak is aiding his recovery from a slow season start. The veteran outfielder is hitting .219 with a .668 OPS, six homers, 20 RBI, 13 runs scored, eight doubles, and a stolen base over 33 games. He continues to hold a starting position in left field, and his improved hitting should secure his playing time.

Raisel Iglesias secures victory in extra inning.

Raisel Iglesias (2-2) secured the win on Tuesday by pitching a flawless inning and striking out two against the Reds. In the 10th inning, Iglesias was assigned the challenge of leaving the ghost runner stranded, which he accomplished effortlessly, retiring the side in just seven pitches. Atlanta then clinched the victory in the bottom of the frame, resulting in a win for Iglesias. He has now achieved four straight scoreless appearances with an 8:0 strikeout-to-walk ratio during this period, though he remains tied for 15th with six saves to date.

Daysbel Hernández gave up a run.

Daysbel Hernández saw action in the Braves' 2-1 win over the Reds in 10 innings. He pitched the eighth inning, conceding the run that gave the Reds a 1-0 lead. Daysbel allowed a single to Elly de la Cruz, who then stole second base and scored on Santiago Espinal's single. Despite this, Daysbel struck out three batters during his appearance, and after the Braves tied the game in the ninth, he was no longer in line for the decision. Daysbel is having a strong season in Atlanta's bullpen, boasting a 3-0 record and a 2.16 ERA over 16 games this year, even with a K:BB ratio of 12:7.

Miguel Vargas and Edgar Quero went hitless on Tuesday.

Miguel Vargas and Edgar Quero went 0-for-8 combined in the White Sox's 4-3 loss to the Royals on Tuesday. Vargas drew a walk while Quero struck out three times for the second straight game. The Cienfuegos native, Quero, is on an 8-at-bat hitless streak with six strikeouts that has seen him bat a poor .217 (5-for-23) with 3 RBIs and 8 strikeouts in his last seven games.

Adolis García had a perfect 3-for-3 performance against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Adolis García had a perfect 3-for-3 performance, contributing an RBI and a walk in Tuesday's victory over Boston. He hit three singles, earned a walk, and delivered an RBI sacrifice fly in the 6-1 win. This marked his fourth multi-hit game in his last seven appearances, though he didn't manage a hit in the other three games. During this period, his season OPS increased slightly from .643 to .679, and he has only achieved one extra-base hit in his last 12 games.

Cionel Pérez continues his poor outings.

Cionel Pérez had another poor outing in the Orioles' 9-1 loss to the Twins on Tuesday. He had to throw 16 pitches, eight of them strikes. Cionel was called from the bullpen in the seventh inning and, despite being poorly defended, only got one out, walking a batter and allowing two runs, one earned. It was a fitful outing; after the first batter of the inning reached base on an error, Cionel struck out Trevor Larnach before walking Willi Castro, prompting his substitution. Matt Bowman then allowed a home run to Byron Buxton, allowing two inherited runners to score. Cionel now has a 9.20 ERA in 13 outings and is expected to be sent to the minors, a popular demand among an Orioles team whose fans are eager for better performance, after a 13-21 record in last place in the American League East.

Yandy Díaz homered but was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Phillies with right hip tightness.

Yandy Díaz began the game as the designated hitter, batting third in the lineup. In his second at-bat, he hit a two-run home run narrowing the score to 3-2, marking his fifth homer of the season. However, in the bottom of the sixth inning, he was replaced by pinch hitter Christopher Morel. Rays manager Kevin Cash informed reporters afterward that they believe Díaz will be fine and is expected to play on Wednesday. It appears that the 33-year-old's early exit was a precautionary measure after his hip tightened during an awkward swing in the sixth inning.

Jorge Soler went hitless on Tuesday.

Jorge Soler didn't get a hit in any of his four at-bats during the Angels' 8-3 victory against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. He struck out once. Soler is currently on an eight at-bat hitless streak and has only one hit in 15 at-bats, with no home runs or RBIs, over his last four games.

Andy Pagés got a hit on Tuesday.

Andy Pagés extended his hitting streak to three games by going 1-for-5 in Tuesday's 5-4 defeat against the Marlins. Prior to this, Pagés had experienced thirteen at-bats without a hit, failing to secure any hits in his first two games of May, but he has since gone 4-for-13 in his last three games. His only hit on Tuesday was his fifth double of the season, and he also scored his 17th run.

Randy Arozarena returned to the lineup on Tuesday.

Randy Arozarena rejoined the lineup on Tuesday as the designated hitter, batting fourth against the A's. The Mariners secured a 5-3 victory. Arozarena didn't get any hits, finishing 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout. Later in the game, pinch runner Leo Rivas took his place. It's encouraging that he's back in Seattle's lineup without requiring an extended break.

Luis Robert Jr. received Tuesday off.

Luis Robert Jr. was absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals. He entered the game in the ninth inning to help defensively protect a 3-2 lead. However, the Royals scored twice in that inning, resulting in a 4-3 victory. Luis Robert did not have any at-bats. He had started the previous 16 games and was taking a day off after achieving a .241/.371/.483 slash line with four home runs and nine steals during that period.

José Iglesias was out of the lineup again Tuesday.

José Iglesias was absent from the Padres' starting lineup against the Yankees on Tuesday. He came in as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and finished 0-for-2. Over his last nine games, Iglesias is now 3-for-28, overshadowing his strong start to the season when he had a .298 average and a .723 OPS in the first 18 games.

Néstor Cortés has started playing catch again.

The 30-year-old received a PRP injection in his left elbow following his start on April 3rd and has been sidelined since. He began playing catch earlier this week and will gradually progress to long toss, bullpens, and eventually a rehab assignment. It will still be several weeks before he returns to the mound in Milwaukee.
