Cuban Players News for the 2025 Major League Baseball season. A compilation of several sources.

Andy Pagés achieved a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, hitting two home runs, scoring three times, and driving in three runs, propelling the Dodgers to an 8-6 win against the Padres on Tuesday.

Andy Pagés had an impressive game, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI, and three runs scored in Tuesday's 8-6 victory over the Padres. Pagés has now hit safely in four consecutive games, although this was his first multi-hit game since June 9 in San Diego. The game was also his second multi-HR of his career - first during the regular season - , after hitting two homers in Game 5 of the 2024 NLCS. The outfielder has accumulated three home runs and seven RBI in his last three games. Following Tuesday's standout performance, Pagés boasts a .293/.332/.513 slash line, with 15 home runs, 49 RBI, 38 runs scored, and six stolen bases over 70 games. He has already exceeded his previous total of 13 home runs from 116 games in 2024, highlighting his breakout performance in his second major league season.

Raisel Iglesias earned a win on Tuesday against the Mets.

Raisel Iglesias (4-5) struck out one batter in a scoreless inning, securing a win against the Mets on Tuesday. Iglesias pitched a flawless 10th inning, earning a victory after Atlanta won in the bottom of the frame. He faced the easier part of the lineup with the automatic runner on base and retired Jared Young, Francisco Alvarez, and Ronny Mauricio. Since his last blown save on June 5, he's pitched three scoreless innings. Despite this, he maintains a 6.00 ERA over 27 innings.

Jorge Soler had no hits in four at-bats and struck out twice in the game against the Yankees on Tuesday.

Jorge Soler has gone 5-for-42 without any extra-base hits and has a 17/4 strikeout-to-walk ratio this month, resulting in a poor .207/.280/.350 line for the season. Although the Angels don't have significantly better options, Soler becomes a considerable liability due to his lack of defense and inability to contribute on the basepaths when he's not hitting well.

Edgar Quero achieves 2 hits and an RBI in defeat to Cardinals.

Even though the Chicago White Sox suffered a 12-2 defeat against the St. Louis Cardinals, Edgar Quero stood out with two hits and an RBI. He achieved a 2-for-4 performance in the game. His steady play is evident with a .284 average for the 2025 season. Over the past five games, Quero has delivered remarkable stats, hitting .471 (8-for-17), which has increased his season totals to 42 hits and 17 RBIs in 47 games.

José Iglesias did not get a hit on Tuesday.

The Padres lost to the Dodgers 8-6 on Tuesday, with José Iglesias making his seventh start of the month. Playing as shortstop and batting seventh, Iglesias went hitless, finishing 0-for-2 with a run scored and a strikeout. Although his role with the Padres is limited, Iglesias's percentile rankings are generally low, except for his Whiff% (18.2) and K% (17.0).

Luis Robert Jr. returned to the lineup for the series opener against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

On Tuesday night, Luis Robert Jr. returned to center field and batted fifth after missing Sunday's game against the Rangers due to soreness in his right thumb. He did not get any hits, going 0-for-4. The 27-year-old Cuban player has stolen 21 bases this season but heads into Wednesday with a .190/.275/.305 slash line. He has contributed only six home runs, 28 RBIs, and 25 runs for the last-place White Sox. Robert possesses remarkable physical talent, yet he has struck out 80 times in 258 plate appearances and ranks in the 59th percentile for hard-hit rate. His xwOBA is in just the 29th percentile in MLB.

Miguel Vargas records his 19th double in the loss to the Cardinals.

Miguel Vargas continued his hitting streak, reaching six games, with a double and a run scored in the game against the Cardinals. However, despite his efforts, the White Sox were defeated, 12-2. Over the course of 70 games this season, Vargas holds a .242 batting average and an OPS of .762. His 19 doubles and 10 home runs this season underscore his power-hitting capabilities.

Orlando Ribalta Added to Nationals' 15-Day Injured List.

Orlando Ribalta is on the 15-day injured list due to a right biceps strain and is anticipated to return in late June. This season, Ribalta has appeared in four games for the Washington Nationals. During these outings, he has pitched a total of 7 2/3 innings, posting a 5.87 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP, with six strikeouts and four walks, resulting in a K/9 of 7.0. Earlier in the season, Ribalta showed potential in spring training with a 1.88 ERA over 14 1/3 innings. Despite his impressive preseason performance, he did not achieve any wins or saves.

Randy Arozarena went hitless.

Randy Arozarena went 0-for-3 on Tuesday during the Mariners' 8-0 win against the Red Sox, striking out once. Although Arozarena's Hard-Hit Percentage is impressive, ranking in the 83rd percentile, he has faced challenges with consistency this year. A major contributing factor is his strikeout rate, which stands at 28.0%, almost reaching his historical high of 28.9% in 2020, a year when he was a newcomer with just 76 plate appearances.

Pedro León Undergoing Running, Hitting, and Throwing Progression.

Houston Astros outfield prospect Pedro León was pulled from his rehab assignment last Tuesday due to continued soreness in his left knee. However, he is now undergoing a progression in running, hitting, and throwing, as reported by Chandler Rome of The Athletic. León has been recovering this year from a Grade 1 MCL sprain and experienced a setback while playing for Triple-A Sugar Land. Ranked as the team's No. 18 prospect by MLB Pipeline, he is making progress but is likely several weeks away from returning to game action in the minors. The 27-year-old Cuban posted a .299/.372/.514 slash line with an .886 OPS, 24 home runs, 90 RBI, 78 runs scored, and 29 stolen bases in 118 games last year with Sugar Land. He also made his major league debut, appearing in just seven games. León possesses exceptional raw power and strength, though it is accompanied by numerous strikeouts and poor plate discipline.
