Cuban Players News for the 2025 Major League Baseball season. A compilation of several sources.

Randy Arozarena hits his 27th home run.

Randy Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in a 5-3 victory over the Cardinals on Tuesday. Arozarena extended his hitting streak to four games, hitting his first homer of the month as well. The powerful outfielder had a .734 OPS through May, but has improved since June began. In his last 389 plate appearances, Arozarena is slashing .258/.339/.490 with 20 home runs, 19 doubles, 50 RBI, and 18 stolen bases, raising his OPS to .794 for the year. He is also three homers and three steals away from achieving the first 30-30 season of his career.

Yoán Moncada belts his 12th home run.

Yoán Moncada went 2-for-4, hitting a home run, driving in three runs, scoring three times, and drawing a walk in a 12-2 victory over the Twins on Tuesday. Moncada's home run marked his first in September and his 12th of the season. The experienced third baseman is aiming to finish the season strongly. Over his last 81 plate appearances (23 games), Moncada boasts a .300/.395/.571 slash line, with 10 extra-base hits, 10 RBIs, and 13 runs scored, raising his OPS to .815 for the year.

Yennier Cano failed to secure the save.

Yennier Cano was unable to secure the save after giving up a solo home run to Tommy Pham in the ninth inning on Tuesday against the Pirates. Pham’s home run kicked off the ninth. Cano managed to retire the next two batters but was replaced by Keegan Akin when left-handed Oneil Cruz was due up. Akin walked two batters before completing the inning, and the Orioles ultimately won in 11 innings. Akin still appears to be the leading candidate for saves in Baltimore, although no one is a strong option there at the moment.

Víctor Mesa Jr. adds two more RBIs.

Víctor Mesa Jr., after hitting his first MLB career home run on Monday, wasn't initially in Tuesday's regular lineup. However, he entered as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning and hit a two-run double. These runs contributed to Miami's rally against the Nationals, scoring three in the inning before ultimately losing 7-5. In just 12 games this season, Mesa Jr. has a batting average of .273/.385/.500, with one home run and six RBIs.

Yordan Álvarez achieved a game with multiple hits.

Yordan Álvarez had three hits in five at-bats on Tuesday during the Astros' 4-3 defeat against the Blue Jays. He neither scored a run nor recorded an RBI. One of his hits marked his seventh double of the season. The Cuban player, who missed most of the season due to a broken hand, is currently batting .283/.379/.455 over 42 games and 177 plate appearances, with 6 home runs and 27 RBIs this season.

Andy Pagés batted eighth on Tuesday.

Andy Pagés was in the starting lineup for the Dodgers on Tuesday, batting eighth in their 7-2 win over Colorado. Pagés managed one hit in three at-bats, scored a run, and struck out once. The Cuban player has been experiencing a recent offensive slump, with a .241/.250/.426 line over his last 15 games, hitting three home runs and driving in eight RBIs, but also accumulating 17 strikeouts and no stolen bases. Pagés is just one RBI (he has 79) short of leading all Cuban players this season, and has 24 home runs and 140 hits, both also ranking as the second-highest among Cubans this year.

Adolis García advanced to participating in live batting practice on Tuesday at Globe Life Field.

Adolis García engaged in some running, marking a crucial step forward since he was placed on the injured list last Friday due to a quad strain. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy mentioned to reporters earlier this week that the powerful outfielder might return to the lineup by the week's end.
