Cuban Players News for the 2025 Major League Baseball season. A compilation of several sources.

Miguel Vargas with his eight homer of 2025.

On Tuesday night, Miguel Vargas went 2-for-5, hitting a home run, a double, and driving in three runs, but it wasn't sufficient to lead the White Sox to a win against the Mets.

Vargas put the White Sox ahead early with a 354-foot (105.2 mph exit velocity) two-run homer off Tylor Megill in the first inning.

Later, he hit a double that drove in a run in the seventh inning, narrowing the gap for the White Sox to 5-4. Vargas has recorded an extra-base hit in each of the last four games, and in his past 14 games, he's impressively slashing .310/.328/.724 with six doubles and six home runs among his 18 hits. The 25-year-old appears to be hitting his stride in Chicago, currently posting a slash line of .244/.316/.440, with eight home runs, 26 RBIs, and one stolen base this season.

Aroldis Chapman experienced his first blown save on Tuesday against the Brewers after allowing a run in the ninth inning.

Aroldis Chapman was credited with a blown save in Tuesday's defeat to the Brewers after giving up a run on two hits and a walk during an inning of pitching. He also recorded one strikeout. Chapman entered in the ninth inning to secure the one-run lead after Richard Fitts and the bullpen kept the Brewers scoreless. He faced a situation with runners on the corners and one out when Sal Frelick drove in a run, pushing the game into extra innings. This was Chapman's first appearance of the season where he allowed multiple hits, marking his first blown save of the year. Over his last six outings, he has given up five hits and three walks but has minimized the damage. The 37-year-old has a 2.14 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and a 28:8 K:BB ratio over 21 innings.

Víctor Mesa Jr. with his first hit and RBI on MLB.

Víctor Mesa Jr. took only two games to achieve his first hit and RBI in MLB. This occurred during the Marlins' 7-6 defeat to the Padres on Tuesday. In the first inning, when the Marlins scored six runs but still ended up losing, Mesa hit a single off starter Stephen Kolek with a ground ball to right field, bringing Connor Norby home. Overall, he went 1-for-4 in the game.

In his birthday, Yoán Moncada hit a solo home run and went 1-for-4 in the game against the Yankees on Tuesday.

The Angels hadn't scored through eight innings until Yoán Moncada hit a solo home run off Devin Williams at the start of the ninth, reducing the deficit to two runs. The 30-year-old third baseman now has five home runs and 18 RBIs, with a batting line of .222/.330/.467 over 106 plate appearances.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. with another multi-hit game.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. recorded two hits in four at-bats, including a double, one RBI, and a stolen base during Tuesday's 9-6 defeat to the Pirates. Over his last four games, Gurriel has secured two stolen bases and has achieved four multi-hit performances in his last five games. His recent success at the plate has boosted his batting average to .245 for the season, along with a .719 OPS, eight home runs, 31 RBI, 19 runs scored, three steals, and 12 doubles across 51 games. Despite this improvement, Gurriel's average remains significantly below his career norm, suggesting he could continue to progress towards his usual level of performance.

Randy Arozarena went hitless on Tuesday.

In a 9-1 win over the Nationals, Randy Arozarena went 0-for-3, contributing an RBI, drawing a walk, and striking out once. He has been struggling lately, batting only .185/.313/.296 with no home runs and just one RBI over his last seven games.

Yariel Rodríguez dazzles in relief Tuesday.

Yariel Rodríguez threw another scoreless outing in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers. He allowed one hit and struck out one over two scoreless innings. The 28-year-old right-hander needed only 26 pitches (17 strikes) to record his six outs - he also caught Josh Smith off guard at first base -, as Rodríguez helped give the Blue Jays' usual high-leverage options a breather by working the sixth and seventh innings. He looks a different pitcher right now and may be also used in high leverage situations. Rodríguez has recorded 13 consecutive scoreless innings, and over his last nine outings and 13 innings he's posted a 14:2 K:BB.

Yennier Cano achieved two clean outs on Tuesday.

Yennier Cano participated in Tuesday's Orioles' 7-4 defeat against the Cardinals. He pitched in the seventh inning, securing two outs, one of which was a strikeout. This performance reduced his ERA to 4.34 for the season. After a challenging month of May, he now has three straight appearances without allowing a score.

Yandy Díaz hitless agains the Twins.

During Tuesday's 4-2 defeat against the Twins, Yandy Díaz was hitless in four at-bats and struck out three times. This marked his first game of the year with three strikeouts. He has also been facing offensive difficulties recently, managing just 1-for-17 (.059) with 7 strikeouts over his last four games.

Daysbel Hernández encountered difficulties against the Phillies on Tuesday.

Daysbel Hernández came into the game in the eighth inning, with the Braves trailing 1-0 and needing to keep the score unchanged. However, after securing the first two outs, he gave up consecutive singles and issued two straight walks, allowing the Phillies to extend their lead to 2-0. The Braves are relying heavily on Daysbel in the bullpen, but his struggles with a 5.7 walks per 9 innings and a mere 6.5 strikeouts per 9 innings do not support his case.

Adolis García went without a hit on Tuesday.

In Tuesday's 2-0 victory over the Blue Jays, Adolis García went 0-for-3 with a strikeout. He was moved up to sixth in the lineup for this game, but it didn't impact his performance. Adolis is facing challenges this year, as evidenced by his .130/.167/.304 line over the last seven games, with one home run and three RBIs. Overall, he has only 7 home runs and 27 RBIs, along with 55 strikeouts in 212 plate appearances.

Luis Robert Jr. was not in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Mets.

It was a typical rest day for Luis Robert Jr., who has successfully stolen a base in four straight games. Robert tops the league with 21 stolen bases—just two shy of his career-best 23 steals from last season—but his offensive performance in 2025 has been underwhelming, with a .191/.277/.309 slash line over 50 games. Although he’s familiar with physical challenges, he has remained mostly healthy this season. This is his first day off since May 13.
