White Sox's José Abreu: Racks up three hits in win. Abreu went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Astros. Abreu has multiple hits in six of his last 10 games, batting .410 (16-for-39) in that span. The first baseman has just one extra-base hit, a double, in that stretch, and he's posted a 2:10 BB:K. Despite the lack of power, he's finding ways to remain productive. The 35-year-old is up to a .307/.382/.466 slash line with 14 home runs, 56 RBI, 64 runs scored and 28 doubles through 498 plate appearances.

Néstor Cortés allowed three runs over seven innings in Tuesday's loss to the Rays.

Cortés (9-4) took the defeat Tuesday against Tampa Bay, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out three in seven innings. All three runs against Cortés came in the first inning as he allowed singles to the first two batters and then a three-run homer to Randy Arozarena with one out. He didn't allow another hit until the sixth innings as he retired 20 of the last 21 batters he faced. The lefty has allowed three runs or fewer in six straight starts, compiling a 2.72 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 33:8 K:BB in 36.1 innings over that span. With 125 innings pitched, he's thrown 10 more innings than in any other major or minor-league season.

Adrián Morejón may get a better role getting to the end of the season.

Morejón missed about three weeks with shoulder inflammation this season. The 23-year-old southpaw allowed at least one run in four of his seven appearances during the months of June-July, though he's also picked up one win. In August he has not allowed a run in six outings compiling a 0.00 ERA in 6 innings with 4 strikeouts, five hits, and a walk. He's added a 4.33 K/BB ratio with a 4.11 ERA, and 1.17 WHIP through 15.1 innings. Morejón is expected to keep a middle-relief role going forward, but his background as a starter could allow him to cover multiple innings and maybe a different role by the end of the season.

Astros manager Dusty Baker indicated that Aledmys Díaz (groin) might be placed on the 10-day injured list.

Díaz tweaked his left groin as he robbed Yasmani Grandal of a base hit in the third inning of the Astros' loss at the White Sox on Tuesday night. He had been hitting the ball well over the last handful of weeks, so this comes with unfortunate timing. Look for an official decision on Wednesday. Díaz did downplay the issue after the game, but any sort of strain would mean an extended absence. The 32-year-old entered Wednesday with a .347/.377/.653 batting line over his last 53 plate appearances.

Rays' Randy Arozarena: Slugs 16th homer.

Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Tuesday against the Yankees. Arozarena took Néstor Cortés yard in the first inning to record his 16th home run of the season. Arozarena now has four homers across his last six starts, and he's also driven in 10 and scored five runs in that span. For the season, Arozarena also has 21 steals -- a career-high -- while maintaining a .256/.317/.438 line across 461 plate appearances. He's now homered four times over his last six games.

José Barrero went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts on Tuesday versus the Phillies.

Outside of his two-homer game earlier this month in Milwaukee, Barrero is batting .150 with a hideous 57.5 percent strikeout rate over 11 games. The 24-year-old has loads of talent but clearly plenty to work on.

Astros' Yulieski Gurriel, Yordan Álvarez, and Aledmis Díaz: Two hits on Tuesday.

Gurriel, Yordan, and Díaz went 2-for-10 on Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the White Sox. Gurriel went 1-for-4, scored, walked and struck out, while Yordan also walked and struck out twice. Díaz went 0-for-2 before exiting Tuesday's contest during the fourth inning. The 32-year-old has been playing more outfield with Michael Brantley (shoulder), and he suffered the injury while making a catch in left field.

Luis Robert (wrist) was out of the White Sox lineup again on Tuesday.

Robert continues to be bothered by left wrist discomfort and got another day for rest and treatment. Eloy Jiménez, A.J. Pollock, and Andrew Vaughn started across the outfield versus the Astros.

Moncada hits winning single in 8th again, ChiSox beat Astros.

Yoán Moncada came through with the go-ahead single in the eighth inning for the second straight game, and the Chicago White Sox rallied to beat the Houston Astros 4-3 on Tuesday night. Moncada went 1-for-4 with an RBI and an strikeout and is now slashing .200/.266/.313 with 6 homers, and 35 RBI.

Nationals' Yadiel Hernández: Held out Tuesday. Hernández was not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs. Hernández tallied two hits in Monday's contest, but he was be held out Tuesday with the Nationals loading up on right-handed hitters against Cubs southpaw Justin Steele. Lane Thomas got the start in left field in Hernández's place.
