Randy Arozarena went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base on Thursday, leading the Rays to a 6-2 victory over the Tigers.

Arozarena capped off an impressive four-hit performance with an RBI double to left field off Tigers righty Wily Peralta in the ninth inning. He also added an RBI single against Tigers righty Alex Lange in the seventh inning and picked up his 21st stolen base of the season later in the frame. Arozarena went 2-for-19 in his previous six games before doubling that hit total in one night Thursday. The 27-year-old outfielder is hitting .258/.318/.421 with 44 runs scored, 12 homers, 49 RBI and 21 steals in 422 plate appearances.

Orioles' Cionel Pérez: Earns sixth win. Pérez (6-1) struck out one without allowing a baserunner in 1.1 innings to earn the win Wednesday over the Rangers. Pérez got the last out of the seventh inning and also pitched the eighth without trouble. He was in the game as the Orioles rallied ahead, to the point that a save situation didn't arise. The southpaw is on a seven-inning scoreless streak with an 8:4 K:BB in his last seven appearances, and he'll likely have some closing opportunities since Jorge López was traded to the Twins on Tuesday. Pérez owns a sharp 1.21 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB, one save and 15 holds through 37.1 innings this season. Félix Bautista and Dillon Tate are also in the mix in what's likely to be a matchup-based closing committee for the last two months of the season.

José Abreu won the 2022 White Sox Heart & Hustle Award.

Yesterday the Chicago White Sox announced that José Abreu was selected as the White Sox winner for the 2022 Heart & Hustle Award. This is his first selection. The Heart & Hustle Award is presented annually to a player who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit, and traditions of the game. The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) created the Heart & Hustle Award in 2005.

Yoán Moncada hit an RBI triple on Thursday in the White Sox' loss to the Rangers.

Moncada slashed the White Sox' deficit to a single run with an eighth-inning triple into the right-center field gap, which was certainly aided by an Adolis García misplay. It was his first triple of the season and lone hit in four at-bats in the low-scoring affair. The 27-year-old corner infielder is hitting .204/.267/.326 with just five homers and zero steals in 240 plate appearances this season. It's not what you want.

Dodgers' Miguel Vargas: Heads to bench Thursday. Vargas didn't start Thursday against the Giants, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reported. Vargas made his big-league debut Wednesday and went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base. On Tuesday, Jon Morosi interviewed Vargas for MLB Network.
