Yadiel Hernández went 2-for-4 and hit his seventh homer Monday as the Nationals topped the Dodgers 4-1.

Hernández went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Dodgers.

Hernández tied the game at 1-1 with a leadoff homer in the fifth inning. This was the outfielder's seventh homer of the year and his second in 17 games in July. He's hit safely in only seven contests this month, though four of those have been multi-hit efforts. For the season, the 34-year-old is slashing .269/.312/.420 with 34 RBI, 24 runs scored and two stolen bases through 263 plate appearances.

Rangers' Adolis García: Extends hit streak with homer. García went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners. García's hitting streak is up to seven games (11-for-27), and he's swatted three homers in that span. It's his third streak of at least seven games since the start of June, as the outfielder has found more consistency at the plate. He's slashing .249/.294/.467 with 18 long balls, 59 RBI, 54 runs scored and 14 stolen bases in 17 tries through 91 contests this year.

Orioles' Cionel Pérez: Another shutout inning.

Pérez went 1 1/3 scoreless innings against the Rays in Orioles' 5-1 win on Monday night. Pérez allowed a hit but struck out two hitters to elevate to 30 his K this season. The lefty Cuban has been one of the most efficient relievers this year, posting a 5-1 record with 30 K in 33.1 innings and an 1.35 ERA.

Yordan Álvarez (hand) went 0-for-3 with a walk and also scored a run on Monday in his return to the Astros' lineup.

Álvarez returned for Monday's series opener against Oakland after being held out of the Astros' starting lineup on Sunday due to right hand soreness, which has been a recurring issue for the fantasy superstar over the last few weeks. The 25-year-old slugger is expected to receive occasional time off to prevent the recurring issue from becoming an even larger problem over the final two months of the regular season.

Ray's Yandy Díaz and Randy Arozarena: Combined for two hits on Monday.

Díaz and Arozarena went 2-for-8 combined on Monday's 5-1 loss to the Orioles. Díaz walked and struck out while Arozarena has his stolen base number 20 of the year.

Astros' Yuli Gurriel and Aledmis Díaz: Combined for just one hit Monday night.

Gurriel went 0-for-2 while Aledmis Díaz was 1-for-4 in a 7-5 loss to the A's on Monday's night. Gurriel, who won a batting title and looked like one of the game’s best pure hitters in 2021, is having a terrible season with a .234/.287/.384 performance through 345 plate appearances. With the trade deadline approaching, Gurriel's name is constantly mentioned with the possibility of Houston acquiring first baseman Josh Bell from the Nationals. If this happens, Houston may keep Gurriel as a backup player. Meanwhile Aledmis Díaz has settled in the outfield and is now slashing .315/.383/.611 during his last 15 games.

José Iglesias was removed from Monday's game versus the Brewers after fouling a ball off his left foot.

Iglesias initially stayed in to finish his plate appearance in the top of the second inning but was removed for defense before the bottom of the frame. X-rays came back negative and he's listed as day-to-day. He went 0-for-1 in the game leaving his BA at .300 for the year.
