Cuban Players News for the 2025 Major League Baseball season. A compilation of several sources.

Andy Pagés hit a three-run home run and went 2-for-3 in the game against the Twins on Tuesday.

Andy Pagés went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 10-7 defeat to the Twins. Pagés drew a walk in the second inning and then got the Dodgers on the scoreboard against the Twins with a three-run homer off Simeon Woods-Richardson in the fourth that tied the game at 3-3. He also added a single in the eighth inning. Pagés has hit home runs in two consecutive games against Minnesota. He is now 5-for-10 with three extra-base hits over his last three games as he aims for more consistency in July. The outfielder has a .285/.326/.489 slash line with 19 homers, 63 RBIs, 48 runs scored, and eight stolen bases over 98 games this season. He leads all Cuban players in the Majors in home runs and RBIs.

Jorge Soler hit his 12th home run of the season as the Angels lost to the Mets on Tuesday evening in New York.

The 33-year-old power hitter took advantage of Mets’ right-hander Frankie Montas with a 378-foot (106.7 mph exit velocity) solo home run to start the scoring in the second inning. This was Soler’s only hit in four at-bats for the evening. This season, he has a disappointing slash line of .216/.294/.388, with 12 home runs and 34 RBIs.

Yandy Díaz hitless on Tuesday.

During the Rays' 4-3 win over the White Sox on Tuesday, Yandy Díaz had an atypical afternoon, finishing 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. This was just his fourth hitless game in July, a month where the Cuban is posting a .288/.368/.470 batting line with three home runs and 11 RBIs. Yandy remains one of the most productive Cuban hitters, leading all with 112 hits in 2025. He enhances his offensive performance with 16 home runs, 58 RBIs, and 49 runs scored in what has been an outstanding year for him.

Adolis García hit a solo home run and went 1-for-4 in the game against the Athletics on Tuesday.

Adolis García went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's victory over the Athletics. He put the Rangers on the scoreboard with a solo shot to center field in the fourth inning. García now has four home runs in his last nine games and has reached 14 for the season. Before the All-Star break, he hit safely in 12 of 13 games, but since the games resumed last weekend, he has managed only three hits and has struck out eight times in 19 at-bats. The 32-year-old outfielder is batting .230/.273/.402 with 14 home runs, 37 runs scored, 57 RBIs, and 10 steals over 392 plate appearances.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is credited with a hit.

On Tuesday, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. recorded a hit in three at-bats and drew a walk during the D-backs' 3-1 defeat to the Astros. Despite the challenging season, Gurriel has 12 home runs and 48 RBIs, with a slash line of .247/.295/.409. He has scored 35 runs over 94 games and 403 plate appearances.

Orlando Ribalta added to 15-day injured list due to biceps strain.

Orlando Ribalta of the Washington Nationals is sidelined with a right biceps strain and is on the 15-day injured list, targeting a return in mid-August. Ribalta has pitched 7 2/3 innings across 4 games, posting an ERA of 5.87 and a WHIP of 1.17. He has tallied 6 strikeouts and issued 4 walks, with a K/9 of 7.0. His season has faced multiple interruptions due to this injury, with anticipated returns in late June, early July, and mid-July before the current mid-August goal.

Yennier Cano concedes another run.

Yennier Cano faced challenges on Tuesday, conceding another run during the Orioles' 6-3 defeat against the Guardians. Cano pitched in the seventh inning, issuing a walk and giving up a hit, which resulted in an earned run that finalized the score in Cleveland. He did not record any strikeouts and also received a violation for the pitch delay rule. This is the third instance in his last five outings where Cano has given up a run. Over these appearances, he has pitched five innings, allowing seven hits and five runs—four earned—while holding a 4:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Cano's performance has worsened since May, with ERAs of 9.64 in May, 4.70 in June, and now 4.50 in July.

Miguel Vargas and Edgar Quero hitless on Tuesday.

Miguel Vargas and Edgar Quero combined to go 0-for-6 on Tuesday in the White Sox's 4-3 loss to the Rays. Vargas walked one and struck out one, while Quero drove in one run and also struck out once. While Vargas is slashing .221/.304/.402 with 12 home runs and 40 RBIs, in his debut year Quero is hitting .264/.344/.350 with two homers and 22 RBIs.

Néstor Cortés is close to completing his rehab assignment.

Néstor Cortés is set for his next rehab appearance on Thursday, where he's expected to throw approximately 90 pitches, according to Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com. So far, Cortés has participated in three rehab outings between High-A Wisconsin and Triple-A Nashville, totaling 12.1 innings with nine strikeouts, while conceding one run on six hits and two walks. If he remains physically sound after Thursday's performance, Cortés is likely to be activated from the 60-day injured list next week. Although all five of the Brewers' starting pitchers are currently performing well, Milwaukee might consider a six-man rotation to accommodate Cortés' return.

Randy Arozarena recorded one hit.

Randy Arozarena went 1-for-3 with a strikeout in the Mariners' 1-0 victory over the Brewers. His sole hit was his 23rd double of the season, bringing his total to 42 extra-base hits, which includes a triple and 18 home runs. Although the Cuban-Mexican outfielder had a challenging start to the season, Arozarena is beginning to find his rhythm as he aims to move past a 2024 season where he posted a .219/.332/.388 batting line and recorded just 60 RBIs.

Luis Robert Jr. was not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays.

It was a typical rest day for Robert after starting 10 games in a row since returning from the injured list on July 8. The 27-year-old center fielder has significantly increased his trade value during this period, batting .364 (12-for-33) with two home runs, eight RBIs, and three stolen bases.

Yoán Moncada is not in the Halos' lineup for Wednesday.

Yoán Moncada is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets. This is the third consecutive time that the switch-hitting Moncada has not been included in the lineup when facing a left-handed pitcher (in this instance, Sean Manaea), suggesting he may be part of a long-side platoon.

José Iglesias is not playing after starting four consecutive games.

José Iglesias will not be in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Iglesias had started in each of the last four games—two against right-handed pitchers and two against lefties—but on Wednesday, he'll sit out as the Padres give Tyler Wade a chance at second base. While Iglesias has seemingly earned a near-everyday spot in San Diego's infield for now, he may find himself out of the regular lineup if the Padres acquire Atlanta's designated hitter Marcell Ozuna—or any other position player—before the July 31 deadline.
