Yandy Díaz achieved a game with multiple hits.
Yandy Díaz recorded only his second multi-hit game of August in the Rays' 7-4 victory over the A's on Monday. He hit his 21st double of the season but did not drive in any runs. He also made a nice catch at first base. Currently, he has 20 home runs and 21 doubles in 2025, with a slash line of .278/.341/.463, along with 59 runs and 67 RBIs.
Yoán Moncada drove in two runs on Monday.
Returning to the starting lineup, Yoán Moncada went 2-for-3 on Monday against the Dodgers, contributing two RBIs. These runs brought his total to 26 for the year, in a season where the Cuban third baseman has once again been hindered by injuries.
Andy Pagés continued his hitting streak.
On Monday, Andy Pagés continued his hitting streak to six games, going 1-for-3 with two strikeouts in a 7-4 victory over the Angels. He was later substituted in the game. Throughout his hitting streak, Pagés has maintained a .348/.400/.478 slash line, scoring three runs, driving in two RBIs, and stealing two bases. However, his power has been lacking, as he has hit only 19 home runs and hasn't homered in the last 17 games, specifically since July 22.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went hitless on Monday, Adolis García with one hit.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. struggled on Monday, going 0-for-5 during a 7-6 defeat to the Rangers in 10 innings. Serving as the designated hitter, his performance dropped his slash line to .246/.292/.404, marking the lowest of his MLB career.
In the same game, Adolis García was moved down in the lineup to bat seventh. He managed to go 1-for-4 with two strikeouts. His only hit was his 24th double of the season. Adolis has been struggling, posting a .206/.242/.365 slash line with only two home runs and four RBIs over his last 15 games. During this stretch, he recorded 16 strikeouts and just three walks.
Víctor Mederos has been selected to start against the Dodgers today.
Víctor Mederos is set to be called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to start Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, as reported by Erica Weston of Bally Sports West. Mederos is stepping in for Tyler Anderson, who was removed from his scheduled start due to a back injury. Mederos last played in the major leagues on July 7 against the Rangers in a relief position, but he has been serving as a starter in Triple-A, allowing two or fewer runs in each of his last five starts, with a 1.73 ERA.

Miguel Vargas took part in batting practice.
Miguel Vargas participated in batting practice on Monday, as reported by Scott Merkin of MLB.com. Vargas did not experience any limitations from his left oblique strain and is optimistic about being activated from the 10-day injured list without first undergoing a rehab assignment. The final decision rests with the White Sox, but they might agree to Vargas' request since the 25-year-old has only been out for just over a week. If he skips the rehab assignment, he could potentially return later this week.
Luis Robert Jr. went hitless on Monday, Andy Ibáñez had one hit.
Luis Robert Jr. went 0-for-4 on Monday in a 2-1 loss to the Tigers, but he did not strike out. Robert has been displaying signs of revitalizing his 2025 season, posting a .291/.344/.418 slash line with two home runs and six RBIs over the past 15 games.
In the same game, Andy Ibáñez was part of the starting lineup and achieved 1-for-2 with a strikeout in the victory. This year, Ibáñez has seen limited playing time, appearing in just 55 games. During his restricted role, he has a slash line of .231/.295/.359, with three home runs, 18 RBIs, 17 runs, and a poor strikeout-to-walk ratio of 18:7 (2.57).
Yordan Álvarez progresses to facing live pitching.
Yordan Álvarez participated in live batting practice on the field Saturday at the Astros' spring training facility in Florida, as reported by Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest. Previously restricted to batting cages due to recovering from a right hand fracture, Yordan made a small advancement in his recovery by facing live pitching. The Astros will likely want Yordan to complete several live BP sessions before allowing him to engage in simulated or minor-league games, where he will need to accumulate at-bats to regain his timing at the plate after a prolonged absence. Houston has not yet provided a definitive timeline for Yordan's return, as he has been on the injured list since May 5.
