The U-15 Pan American or Pre-World Cup qualifier for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup is set to commence this Saturday, September 6, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, at the IPL Academy in El Toro.
This tournament is included in the new restructuring plan that the Pan American Baseball Confederation (COPABE) introduced in 2025. As part of this plan, three qualifying tournaments have been established, each aiming to secure a place in the 2026 World Cup for this category in Italy.
The initial qualifier will wrap up today, Thursday, with Colombia and Venezuela vying for the title and the sole available spot in the South American region. This event also features teams from Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador.
This Saturday, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic will start their second qualifier in the Caribbean region, with the US Virgin Islands not participating.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 6 to 11.

The Central and North American World Cup qualifying tournaments, featuring the United States, Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, will be played from September 13th to 18th.
Returning to the tournament where the Cuban national team aims to secure a spot, it will take place in two rounds. Cuba will make their debut on September 6th at 1:00 pm (Cuban and Eastern Time) against the host team, the Dominican Republic. The following day, they will compete against Puerto Rico at 10:00 am, and they will conclude the first round against Aruba, starting at 9:00 am on Monday, September 8th. The second round will feature the same opponents from September 9th to 11th. The team with the best win-loss record will earn the qualifying spot.
VTV Channel 32 in the Dominican Republic will broadcast all Pan American matches.
