White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Luis Robert (head) won't come off the injured list when first eligible on Friday.

Manager Tony La Russa said Robert is still dealing with some symptoms of lightheadedness and blurred vision, and the center fielder isn't expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday when first eligible, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reported. The 24-year-old landed on the injured list just before the All-Star break, and it appears he'll be sidelined beyond the 10-day minimum. Robert's status has improved and he's been doing more baseball activities, but he's yet to receive full clearance. It's unclear if he'll require a rehab assignment before being reinstated to the active roster. Robert was placed on the IL on July 22, retroactive to July 19. "He seems like he’s improving every day except he’s still getting tested," La Russa told reporters Tuesday. "The IL date is Friday but he hasn’t played much, so, first things first. When is he cleared to really compete and then what’s the smart thing to do. Hope for the best."

Yordan Álvarez went 2-for-3 with an RBI double, a run scored and a walk in Tuesday's loss to the A's.

Álvarez came through with an RBI double in the top of the fifth inning to help cut into the A's 4-1 lead. While the Astros would draw to within 4-3 by the end of the frame, they were unable to come up with another run-scoring rally in the end defeat. On the whole this season, Álvarez is mashing to the tune of a beautiful .307/.409/.664 triple-slash with 28 homers and 66 RBI across 283 at-bats. He has now drawn a walk in four consecutive contests.

White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Posts three-hit effort.

Grandal went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Rockies. Grandal's three hits were all singles, and he was the only White Sox batter to record multiple hits in the game. This was the catcher's second three-hit effort in his last three games. The sudden uptick in hitting has his batting average at a season-high .207 with a .564 OPS, two home runs, 17 RBI and six runs scored through 217 plate appearances.

Rangers' Adolis García: Double twice in loss. García went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners. García continues to rake, hitting in eight straight games going back to before the All-Star break. The outfielder is 13-for-31 (.419) with six extra-base hits, 10 RBI and six runs scored during that stretch. García leads the Rangers in extra-base hits (41), RBI (61), slugging (.473) and runs scored (55). On the whole this season, García is slashing .251/.296/.473 with 18 homers, 61 RBI and 14 steals across 370 at-bats. He is just two steals shy of matching the career-best 16 thefts he posted during the 2021 campaign.

Astros' Aledmis Díaz: Hitless on Tuesday.

The A's beat the Astros 5-3 on Tuesday night and Aledmis Díaz went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the game. Díaz was the second baseman and batted 6th. Overall he is slashing .236/.293/.372 as a backup player.

White Sox's José Abreu and Yoán Moncada: Combined for one hit Tuesday.

Abreu and Moncada went 1-for-8 combined on Tuesday's 2-1 victory against the Rockies. Abreu went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and now his BA sits at .300, while Moncada had his 10th double of the year with a RBI, a walk and a strikeout.

José Iglesias (foot) was not in the Rockies' lineup Tuesday versus the White Sox.

Iglesias fouled a ball into his left foot on Monday night and has some lingering soreness. X-rays came back negative and it doesn't sound like anything that should keep him sidelined for an extended period.

Jay's Lourdes Gurriel Jr.: 31 hits in July.

Gurriel went 1-for-4 with a strikeout on Monday's 10-3 win against the Cardinals. With his only hit Gurriel reached a total of 31 during the month of July, a month in which he is slashing .408/.444/.513 with a HR and 8 RBI. Gurriel's BA this year is .313 and is now ranked eighth among all eligible players.

Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Clean inning on Tuesday.

Chapman pitched a scoreless inning on Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Mets. Chapman was in control this time needing only 10 pitches - 8 strikes - to end the sixth inning. Chapman struck out one hitter and lowered his ERA to 5.48 for the season.

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Didn't start Tuesday. Gurriel was out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics. Gurriel has a .528 OPS in five games since the All-Star break and went to the bench for Tuesday's contest. J.J. Matijevic took over at first base and batted seventh for the Astros. Late in the game Gurriel pinch hit and went 0-for-1.

Ray's Yandy Díaz hitless and Randy Arozarena with two hits Tuesday.

Yandy Díaz and Randy Arozarena went 2-for-10 combined on Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Orioles. Díaz went hitless in 5 AB leaving five runners is scoring position, while Arozarena was 2-for-5 with his RBI #45 of the year and a strikeout. While Díaz's BA descended to .289 for the season, Arozarena has seen an increase in recent days after slashing .370/.414/.630 in his last seven games. He is batting .257 now after being in just .248 back in July 15.
