Randy Arozarena hit his 25th home run in the defeat.
Randy Arozarena went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Padres. His sole hit was significant, as he hit a three-run homer off Dylan Cease in the fifth inning, cutting into the Padres' lead. Later, Eugenio Suárez also hit a three-run homer to give the Mariners the lead, although they eventually lost it. Arozarena has been struggling at the plate, with a .213/.289/.385 batting line over his last 30 games, but he has still managed to hit six home runs in this stretch. This marks the first time the Cuban outfielder has reached 25 homers, and he is now just one steal away from achieving his first 25/25 season.
Adolis García with multi-hit game in the Rangers win against the Angels on Tuesday.
Adolis García initiated the scoring for the Rangers by hitting an RBI double against Yusei Kikuchi in the top of the first inning. He later scored on a sacrifice fly by Cody Freeman. The 32-year-old also hit a single in the fifth inning. Since returning from the injured list on Saturday, his performance has improved, and he currently has a batting line of .228/.272/.398 with 17 home runs, 67 RBI, and 13 stolen bases this season.
Yordan Álvarez was activated.
Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, reported first the activation of Yordan Álvarez from the 60-day injured list on Tuesday. Yordan was sidelined for almost four months - since April 28 - due to a small fracture in his right hand. In Tuesday's game against the Rockies, he played left field and batted fourth. He finished the game 0-for-2 with two walks in the Astros' 6-1 defeat. Yordan went 7-for-15 during his rehab assignment, suggesting that rust might not be a major concern at the start of his return. Before his injury, Yordan had a slash line of .210/.306/.340 over 29 games earlier in the season.
Yandy Díaz contributes three additional hits.
Yandy Díaz recorded three more hits on Tuesday in the Rays' 3-0 defeat against the Guardians. The Rays only secured five hits throughout the game, making Yandy a key offensive contributor. With these three hits, Yandy reached a total of 140 for the season, leading all Cuban players in 2025. His current stats are .284/.342/.471 with 22 home runs and 74 RBIs this year.
Orlando Ribalta was hit hard by the Yankees.
Right-handed reliever Orlando Ribalta struggled against the Yankees during the Nationals' 5-1 defeat on Tuesday. Ribalta took over from starter MacKenzie Gore in the sixth inning, giving up three hits, one of which was a two-run homer by Giancarlo Stanton that sealed the final score. He pitched for one inning in total, walking two batters and striking out one. This season, he has a 6.23 ERA over 14 games, with a 16:11 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 17 1/3 innings.
Adrián Morejón secures his tenth victory.
Adrián Morejón struck out all three batters in a flawless sixth inning, securing the win in Tuesday's 7-6 victory over the Mariners. This marked his 10th win of the season, the highest among MLB relievers. He is currently on an 11-inning scoreless streak with a 13:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio during that period. Throughout the season, Morejón has maintained an impressive 1.78 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, and a 63:12 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 60 2/3 innings, while contributing three saves, 18 holds, three blown saves, and a 10-4 record as one of the Padres' leading relievers.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. did not get any hits on Tuesday.
In a 9-8 defeat against the Brewers on Tuesday, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had an 0-for-5 performance with two strikeouts. Despite this, Gurriel has been showcasing his power in August, having hit 7 home runs and driven in 32 RBIs, while posting an improved .247/.301/.516 slash line. Nevertheless, over his last three games, he is 1-for-11 with 3 strikeouts. This year, Gurriel has accumulated 19 home runs and 80 RBIs, leading all Cubans in RBIs by 2025.
Andy Pagés had another game with multiple hits.
Andy Pagés achieved consecutive multi-hit games after Tuesday's 6-3 victory over the Reds. He went 2-for-4 with one strikeout and added his 22nd double of the year. He grounded out in his sole plate appearance before being taken out in the fourth inning due to the hamstring problem. Additional details regarding the injury's severity will be provided after the White Sox assess him, but currently, he is listed as day-to-day.
Jorge Soler remains unavailable.
Jorge Soler joined the Texas team and took part in on-field batting practice on Tuesday. Soler has been on the injured list since July 26th because of lower back inflammation. If his back responds well to the swings, Soler could start a rehab assignment later this week and possibly return in early September.
